Episode Review:FlashForward:"The Negotiation" (Season 1, Episode 20)

It's April 28th, the day before Zero Day. Do things happen the way we think they do? Well, not yet….
Recap
A TV station has come into possession of more footage of Zero (aka- Simon). Demitri tries to track this tape down as Zoey becomes a demanding, needy wench.

Timeline Problems in the Ben 10 Universe

Much as I like Ben 10 - and I do - the continuity of the show has always been problematic. Some of that is the unavoidable result of time compression in the show. The original series ran from December of 2005 to May of 2008, yet it took place entirely within the space of 90 days, one summer. The sequel series ran from April of ‘08 to March of this year (2010 for all of you folks reading this in the future. How are those flying cars and starships working out for ya’ up there?), and was set over the course of one school year.

Episode Review: LOST:"Across the Sea" (Season 6, Episode 15)

A woman washes up on the shore. A very pregnant woman. She's found by another woman, speaking Latin. We learn that her name is Claudia. In a great way to advance the plot, she gives birth nearly immediately…to Jacob, and another baby. The other woman, wasting no time either, murders Claudia with a handy rock.

SPECULATION: I think I get the whole "Flash Sideways" thing on Lost

Sorry to bug all you guys with a haiku-length post, but it just suddenly occured to me what's up with this whole "Flash Sideways" thing they've been doing this season: The purpose of that timeline is to show us what their fates would be if they hadn't crashed, and hence weren't there to save the world.

Who's Profiling Who??

The "new" Arizona ILLEGAL Immigration law is being called an open invitation to profile latinos. Well, let me tell ya...

The new law the passed is superfluous because all it is doing is enforcing existing federal law! This law is making the law enforcement community of Arizona do what it already should have been doing! This reminds me of a joke... how many times do you have to pass a law before it is enforced? Well, maybe not a joke joke... but ... you get the point, I think...

EPISODE REVIEW: CHUCK: "Chuck Vs. the Tooth" (Season 3, Episode 16)

About this time last year, "Chuck" was on the bubble. Would it be back for a third season? No one--including the producers (and, most definitely including the network, who should have known)--knew. Then the fans kicked in and bought a whole lot of Subway sandwiches and it dawned on someone at NBC that they didn't have any good shows on. So they decided to replace a whole hour's worth of viewing with a tired comedian and announced that "Chuck" would be coming back ... after the Oleolympics, and only for fourteen episodes.

RETROSPECULATIVE TV WRAP-UP: Man From Atlantis: What Have We Learned?

Retrospeculative TV is a series in which we look at the classic shows from yesteryear as though they were new. We look at their successes, their failings (Far more frequent, really), and their unique qualities. “Man From Atlantis” is the first of these series we’ve completed since starting this feature, and as we say farewell to a shirtless, hairless young Patrick Duffy for the final time, I think it’s only fair to take a moment to contemplate what we’ve learned form the show.

The New Regionalism

This is kind of interesting. It’s not really related to SF or Politics, or griping about lackadaisical cable networks that refuse to give their audiences what they want, or anything like that, but it *is* interesting just the same, and as it’s a slow news day, I figured I’d share it with you.

Episode Review: Doctor Who:"The Time of Angels" (Episode 762)

The Doctor encounters the Weeping Angels and Dr. River Song... and he's probably not sure which one is worse.
Okay, it's the Angels. River just annoys him.
As usual, if you want a recap, Check out Wikipedia's here I'm forgoing the play by play... Great Britain has had this episode to kick about for a couple of weeks, and the opinions are flying...

REALSPACE: USAF, NRO launch spike and other news.

The USAF and NRO will have a spike in launch activity for the next 12 to 18 months. A large number of spy, communication and navigation satellites have built up needing launch do to delays from the contractors. The Air Force is concerned that older early warning satellites are nearing the end of their life and that there might be gaps in coverage if there are anymore delays.
