MOVIE REVIEW: “Moon” (2009)
When I saw my first trailer for “Moon” early last year, I knew immediately it was something I really needed to see. More than that - there’s a zillion movies a year that I do really need to see for this site, after all - this was something I really *wanted* to see. Alas, it was a comparatively low-budget art house flick that never went into wide release. The nearest theater it was playing at in my neck of the woods was three hours away. That’s three hours one way, a six hour round trip.
THIS USED TO BE THE FUTURE: Project Constellation
So how long does it take for a vision of tomorrow to evaporate like last night's dreams? Not long at all. Sometimes something as trivial as a president who's been unable to keep a single one of his campaign promises, and decides to randomly kill a progam so it looks like he's not a completey toothless, inefectual leader.
The bottm line, my friends, is that last month Project Constellation went from being The Future to being something no different than all those Popular Mechanics covers from the 1940s.

Live Tweeting the 82nd Academy Awards (Archive)
Welcome to the archive of the Republibot Live Tweet of the 82nd Academy Awards show. For those new to twitter (www.twitter.com/republibot), the main thing to remember is that it is a real time service that lets you share information in 140 characters or less. So all of the following happened live during the show and was posted to the Republibot twitter account as I typed it.
EPISODE REVIEW: Survivors: “Episode 4” (Episode 4)
These kids - one of whom is named “Peter” - are walking through the woods when a loonie jumps out, takes their (dull) knife, and threatens them with it. The kids run back to a big manor house, and tell some older kids about it. The older kids decide to go hunting. They chase the loonie though the woods, and manage to sink an arrow in his leg before he stumbles across Suburban Mom in her Suburban Mom Mobile. He jumps in the car, the kids attack, she drives off.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON B-MOVIE CRAPFEST: “The Amazing Captain Nemo” (1978)
Last week we did Irwin Allen’s not-at-all-famous B-movie, “City Beneath The Sea.” The man had kind of a nut for underwater shows, and for pretty obvious reason: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was his longest-running series. (4 seasons, 110 episodes) He made periodic attempts to re-capture that particular spark, and this is, more or less, the final one.

EPISODE REVIEW: Caprica: “Know Thy Enemy” (Episode 6, or possibly 7 depending on who you’re talking to)
As predicted, Caprica’s ratings rebounded some last week, despite it being a somewhat sub-par episode. Interestingly, they still came in a hair beneath “Reins of a Waterfall” two weeks ago. I’d have figured they’d have surpassed it by a fair margin. Ah well. In any event, the doomed “Little Show that Can’t” did manage to far-exceed its series low two weeks ago for “Gravedancing.” So is this their comfort level? Will the ratings hold at 1.12 million-ish per week?

REPUBLIBOT WEEKEND MOVIE PREVIEW: Movies Opening 3-05-10
Blergh… Kind of a mixed week this week. On one hand, genre-wise, a good 66% of the releases are near our sweet spot, on the other hand, only 3 movies are opening. But, such is life – you take a little of the good with a bit of the bad and get a tuna casserole. (I have no idea what that means, but it made sense when I wrote it 30 seconds ago.)
