The Return of the Mad Bikini Blogger
Submitted by mad bikini blogger on Mon, 03/15/2010 - 19:23I've returned from my hiatus just to spout off about this government takeover of 1/6th of the United States... nay... the World's economy.
Congratulations to Republibot 2.0
on maintaining gainful employment for 5 years continuously.
Round of Cheers for R2. Aint easy to accomplish in this leftist economy.

WE NEED REVIEWERS! RIGHT NOW!
There's a number of series that we'd really like to review here on Republibot, but we just don't have the manpower to handle it.
Specifically, there are two series on Syfy coming up that we'd love to cover, but kind of can't: "Eureka" and "Warehouse 13." Unless we can find someone amongst our readers to cover them, I'm afraid neither of 'em are going to be reviewed here, and that's a shame as we were pretty dedicated to both series last year. We'd really like to be able to do that again.
EPISODE REVIEWS: Generator Rex: “Breach” (Season 1, Episode 8)
Another pretty solid episode.
Rex awakes in a creepy abandoned town, Greenville, Ohio, which disappeared several years before. He’s in a school with lots of deformed toys, and the town itself is no better, with detritus stacked everywhere, and levitating in the mist.
WHAT I'M DOIN' # 16: Haircut! Twice a decade, whether I need it or not!
About four years ago, I shaved my head at midnight, January 1st, 2007. I was curious to see how much it would grow in a year. At the end of the year, I'd intended to get a normal haircut, but then I thought "I wonder how long it could grow before anyone complains?" So I let it go. Then I changed jobs, and no one really cared about my hair, so I decided to just let it ride for the novelty of it.
WHAT I'M DOIN' # 15
Hoo-hah! I just fininished that story I was working on, "Bubba's Burger Barn." Twenty pages in three days, with a day off in between. My fingers are aching.
Also, I finished the PKD biography. Review to follow.
WHAT I'M DOIN # 14
Garage sale: Sold rougly $300 worth of stuff for about $24. Ah, the twenty-first century. Who knew?

BREAKING NEWS:TORCHWOOD Returning
In a doubly-unexpected move, the BBC has announced that Torchwood is returning for a 10 episode season that will be co-financed and 'aired' by the US pay service STARZ. STARZ produces a bit of original programming, most notably the recent Spartacus:Lucy Lawless' Breasts.
(Maybe THAT phrase will knock the Black Canary Barbie off of it's current search-engine whoring pedestal...)
RETROSPECULATIVE TV: Battlestar Galactica (1978): “Saga of a Star World” (Episode 1) Chapter 2
[CONTINUED FROM CHAPTER 1, YESTERDAY]
Way far off in space, fleet of 220 civilian ships assembles under the protection of the Galactica. They never expressly say, but given the deliberately Biblical references in these proceedings, I think we’re supposed to believe that there are three million human survivors in the fleet, total. That’s how many Israelites escaped Egypt.
RETROSPECULATIVE TV: Quark: “May The Source Be With You” (Episode 2)
As we’ve discussed before, there’s a difference between a “Pilot” episode and a mere “First” episode. “Pilots” are an example made to talk a network into buying a show. A “First” is when the show was already purchased based on a pitch, and there was no need to show the suits an example beforehand. For instance, the first episode of the original Battlestar Galactica wasn’t a Pilot, they’d already agreed to do the series.
